Job Title:
Operations Account Manager for Middle East and Africa

Brief description of your job:
Middle point between the Microsoft Partners, the Microsoft sales teams that work with them and the operations centre. We are the ones that look after the partner and sales interests in the operations centre.

Why did you choose the Microsoft Graduate Programme?
Because we have the chance to make a difference. The tech industry is shaping the world and Microsoft plays a big role in that change. Working as a MACH I have the opportunity of pushing my initiative’s forward as well as taking part in brilliant projects and have a say in them.

A top tip for being successful during the Graduate application process:
Be curious and open to different opportunities!

How was the application process for you?
After a one-year internship, I applied for the MACH (Microsoft Academy of College Hires) and after the assessment centre with other interns from across Microsoft I was offered a position in a different team based on my skills, interests and openings within business areas and I couldn’t be any happier.

What has surprised you the most about working at Microsoft?
How nice and approachable everyone is, especially the managers!

What concerns did you have before joining Microsoft? Are they still concerns?
My biggest concern was getting here with the whole “I will help change the world” dream and end up taking notes in a room - especially considering that I started as an intern and that I had no technical background. It’s not a concern anymore.

What are your future aspirations at Microsoft?
Keep on learning about different areas and products! It’s hard to be any more specific since the industry changes so quickly and there are so many opportunities around the world. However, for now, I would like to move to one of the Middle Eastern / African headquarters and learn about the region a bit better.

Is there something you have taken part in @ Microsoft that you have enjoyed that you didn’t expect too?
Working within different accessibility projects! I have never been able to create something that would help many people’s lives and it gives a different meaning to what you are doing. Those projects are the most inspiring for me since they breathe life into the MS mission of empowering every person and every organisation in the planet to achieve more.
